It’s been a while since Twitch implemented a new mods tab on the chat section of their website. What does this button do? Here is what it means and how to use it!
The Mods Tab was created as an easy way for streamers to keep up with their chat without scrolling through all the comments on every channel they have going.
It also allows you to respond quickly if someone needs your attention or help but doesn’t take up too much of your screen space like it was at the bottom of your screen.
The idea behind this feature is that moderators can now manage to moderate from one place instead of two separate places, making moderation easier.
If you’re a regular user of the Twitch app, then you may have noticed that the mods tab has been offline for some time now.
This is due to a minor glitch in their system that they are working hard on fixing. If your twitch account is one of the many affected by this outage, don’t worry! We will discuss some of the ways to fix it.
What Causes The Twitch App Not Loading Mods?
If your mods tab is not loading, it could be due to a few different reasons:
- Make sure that you have the latest version of Adobe Flash installed on your computer.
- Check if any other programs are using up too much memory or CPU power.
- Try clearing out some space on your hard drive and restarting your browser before trying again.
- Make sure that you don’t have any extensions running in the background, as they can also cause issues with certain pages loading properly.
Other reasons can be as follows-
You have too many mods.
You may have more than 50 mods in your list, which can cause issues when trying to load the Mods page.
To fix this, go through your list of mods and remove any who haven’t posted recently or don’t regularly participate in chat. This will reduce the number of mods in your list down to 50 or less for optimal performance!
Your browser doesn’t support HTML5.
If you’re using an older version of Internet Explorer (IE8 or lower), likely, your browser doesn’t support the HTML5 features needed by Twitch Chat.
Your ad blocker may be blocking scripts from running on Twitch
Some adblockers interfere with scripts used by Twitch Chat; if you think this might be happening, try disabling them temporarily while you use Twitch. If chat loads normally, add the twitchchat.com domain to your ad blocker’s whitelist, so it doesn’t interfere with loading in future sessions.
Ways To Fix Mods Tab Not Loading Twitch
Refresh Your Browser
This one is pretty simple, but it works more often than you might think. Just close out all tabs in your browser (except for the page where you found this article) and then refresh the page by pressing CTRL+F5 or Command+R (Mac)
Sometimes when there’s an error with a website, clearing your cache will resolve it. To do so, follow these steps:
1) Open up Chrome
2) Click 3 dots at the top right corner
3) Click “Settings”
4) Scroll down to the bottom
5) Under “Advanced,” click “Clear browsing data…”
6) In the popup window check off Cached images and files
7) Click CLEAR DATA
8 ) Reload Mod Tab
9 ) Check if the mod tab loads
10 ) If still does not load go to the next step
11 ) Repeat until fixed.
Delete and Reinstall the Twitch Client Application
This is one easy solution if you’re having trouble getting the Twitch client to load. You shouldn’t need to reinstall it.
Just make sure you delete the application from your phone or tablet before launching again. This is especially important if you use a third-party emulator app like Bluestacks.
Clear Cache on Your Device
If you have any other running apps that aren’t related to gaming, they might be causing interference. Simply close them down completely before starting up the Twitch client.
Use an Alternative Browser
Many users have had success using alternative browsers such as Opera, Chrome, Firefox, etc. These all have different features built-in, which you can use instead of the built-in browser.
This includes things like private browsing mode, incognito mode, ad-blocking tools, bookmarking features, etc.
Uncheck “Show Modules”
If you don’t see anything displayed when opening the Twitch app, then chances are there’s something wrong with your settings.
Disable Third-Party Apps
You may find that a particular app is causing problems by preventing the Twitch app from working correctly.
The easiest way to do this would be to disable the app. To do so, just open Settings → Apps → All → Manage Installed Apps. Scroll down to the app you’d like to disable and tap to toggle off. If you still experience errors after doing so, let us know!
The Bottom Line
Twitch has been around since 2011 and is the world’s largest live streaming platform with over 25 million daily active users.
It’s a place where people who love video games stream themselves playing their favorite games while millions tune in to watch.
In addition to broadcasting gameplay videos, there are also chat features and social media integration built into the app.
Despite its popularity, Twitch has a few shortcomings. One of those is that users often complain about issues loading the mod tab.
